Fat, as autologous tissue, has been widely used in plastic surgery for many years. It was the Frenchman llouz in the early 1980s who redefined the usefulness of autologous fat as an injectable implant for smoothing facial and body deformities. Under local anesthesia, the plastic surgeon takes fat from an area of the body (usually the abdomen), i.e. a small amount of liposuction is performed . Once the desired amount of fat has been obtained, it is centrifuged and thus converted into an injectable form. With small injections, the fat is repositioned in the desired areas of the face (wrinkles, nasolabial grooves) in order to “fill” them, essentially eliminating wrinkles.

The treatment takes about 45 minutes and is very safe. In many cases and for even better results, it can be combined with other surgical procedures such as blepharoplasty, facelift, etc.
